RetireMed Clients: Your Annual Enrollment Period FAQs

Couple cooking

Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7 and applies to those on any type of Medicare plan. During this time, you can review your current Medicare plan and if needed, explore others that may better fit your needs or budget. If you choose, you can enroll in a new plan for the upcoming year.

As a RetireMed client, our client advisors are here for you during AEP and year-round for any of your Medicare or plan-related needs. With AEP just around the corner, our team put together these AEP FAQs for your reference.

How can the client advisor team help me during AEP?

Your client advisor team will keep you informed of any important changes affecting your Medicare plan for the upcoming year. We can review your plan as needed and:

•    Determine if a change is necessary based on your needs or plan changes
•    Walk you through your plan benefits for the upcoming year.

I am happy with my Medicare plan. Do I need to do anything?

If you’ve reviewed your Annual Notice of Change and you’re satisfied with any updates to your plan, you do not need to do anything. Your plan will automatically renew for next year and you do not need to sign any documentation to renew your plan.

Do I need to make an appointment with RetireMed?

Unless you have any additional questions about your plan or benefits, then you’re all set! However, if you do have questions, your client advisor team is available to assist. Call 866.557.1313

My drug costs are expensive because I go into the Medicare Part D donut hole. Will changing my plan help?

Unfortunately, the donut hole exists on every Medicare plan. The donut hole is based on your prescription medications and changing your plan will not eliminate the possibility of going into the donut hole. Learn more about the donut hole here.

If I mistakenly enroll in a new Medicare plan with someone outside of RetireMed, am I still able to receive services from RetireMed?

Unfortunately, if you mistakenly enroll in a Medicare plan with a company other than RetireMed (such as a Medicare agent at a grocery store, pharmacy, recreation center, etc.), you will no longer be a RetireMed client and will lose access to our year-round services. If you enroll in a plan by mistake, contact our team right away before the Dec. 7 AEP deadline and we can help!

Can I trust the Medicare commercials I see on T.V.?

Some T.V. commercials about Medicare plans can be misleading. If you have any questions about something you saw or you’re interested in plan benefits the commercial referenced, please give our client advisor team a call.
